Prior to joining Jackson Hewitt, Mr. Haile served as the Director of the Insurance Exchange Planning Initiative of Tennessee, where he worked with the Director of the Bureau of TennCare and the Commissioner for the Department of Commerce & Insurance, to advise the Governor on this and issues related to the federal health reform legislation. In his previous role as the Deputy Director for Benefits Administration, he oversaw the benefit redesign and procurement functions for Tennessee’s public employee health plans, which cover 305,000 people. His past experience also includes positions as the Eligibility Chief for the District of Columbia’s Medicaid program; a consultant at Alicia Smith & Associates, LLC in Washington, DC, as well as research work for the Institute for Health Policy Studies at the University of California, San Francisco and at the HIV Clinical Research Centre in Cape Town, South Africa.
A native Tennessean, Mr. Haile received his Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service and Juris Doctor from Georgetown University. He also holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master’s degree in Health Economics from the University of Cape Town (South Africa).
