Myths vs Facts

Myth: You are not legally obligated to file an individual tax return.

Fact: Every year close to 2500 Americans test this and learn that the Federal Courts in the United States will rule against them and in favor of the IRS/DOJ.

Myth: Your best bet is to do nothing and file nothing.

Fact: Ignoring IRS letters and demands is an excellent way to become the subject of a criminal investigation which likely will end in your arrest and/or imprisonment. At a bare minimum this approach will get your bank accounts emptied and property liened.

Myth: If you get behind on your taxes through neglect, or tax protestor type involvement, you can never approach the IRS, they will throw the book at you and imprison you for sure.

Fact: Approaching the IRS and telling them you are way behind and are willing to work with them to make payments and do back filing is an excellent way to keep yourself out of jail, and save yourself some huge legal fees.

Myth: Not paying Federal Income Taxes will prove you are free and independent and will allow you personal options not available while you are in the system.

Fact: Not paying your taxes will prove you are a glutton for punishment and love looking over your shoulder and you would never want to get ahead financially in life. Who do you actually know who owns much property, or has high net worth in retirement, who lives comfortably and peacefully, who does not pay income taxes?? Some individuals I know were doing well financially before they quit paying taxes and now they are destitute.

Myth: If you know the right laws and provide the right documentation that legally justifies your position, the IRS and DOJ will simply leave you alone for the rest of your life. You just have to find the magic button.

Fact: Constitutional arguments, questions of the legality of the Federal Reserve, questions of the legality of the IRS, or any other legal arguments will likely not even be allowed to be brought up in a Federal Courtroom, and if they are allowed will not generally convince a jury.

Myth: You can legally file a tax statement, a zero return (Schiff, and Hendrickson, different versions), or some other legal paperwork and be left alone.

Fact: You will likely find yourself facing felony charges if you try this, like I am . . .
